Theatre Director

Artistic Director of Light at Midnight Theatre. 

Fiona is a Director whose focus is on building rooms where people feel held, heard and able to take risks. She began her journey as an actor and later worked as a stage manager, giving her a grounded, practical understanding of how a show breathes and how to support the people making it. That mix of experience shapes her directing: collaborative, clear and rooted in real human connection.

She trained on the Theatre Directing MFA programme at Birkbeck. 

She is deeply grateful to the charities and trusts that supported her training. The Equity Charitable Trust, The Theatrical Guild, The Royal Theatrical Fund, The Richard Stapely Foundation and the Peltz Scholarship. 

Her work centres stories that speak to everyday lives and don’t cost the earth. She’s drawn to theatre that opens a door to perspectives we rarely get to sit with, and that treats audiences as partners rather than spectators. Outside the rehearsal room, Fiona is an Ecologist, often found out in the wild protecting bats and championing sustainable creative practice. Entertainment shouldn’t harm the home we all share.

Through all of it, she keeps humour close. Even the most meaningful stories land better when there’s room to laugh and smile.
